TRAINING CLASSESThe University Library System’s Information Literacy training offerings provide its users with a structured program of courses and meetings on strategies and tools for bibliographic research, scholarly text writing, and presenting and giving information about bibliographic resources and services available in libraries. The training courses are structured on different levels. Basic Level:
Intermediate Level BIBLIONAUTI: STRATEGIES AND TOOLS FOR EFFECTIVE RESEARCH The course includes a program that awards a University Open Badge to students who attend the entire course Biblionauts: strategies and tools for effective research. The course program (see Open Badge tab) includes 10 training hours delivered in a hybrid form. Participants who wish to obtain the Open Badge must attend the 10 hours of training and pass a final test. The course aims to provide the fundamental skills to initiate bibliographic research, functional and targeted to meet academic research and study needs, aimed at writing a scholarly paper that ensures high quality and effectiveness of the work. Students not interested in obtaining the Open badge can enroll in the individual TesiFocus and BiblioHub modules but will not have access to the self-study lectures on Kiro and to the in-depth materials. TESIFOCUS: Monthly (no July and August) remote meetings on how to plan an effective bibliographic research process and how to approach writing a scholarly text. BIBLIOHUB: Monthly (no July and August) in-person workshop meetings on how to search and query bibliographic sources and how to manage bibliography Advanced Level: On-demand Sessions. Sessions organized on demand aimed at ensuring specific and in-depth training. The topics covered in individual courses will be based on the methodological structuring of bibliographic research, the most significant techniques of searching for documentary information in digital media, and the easy and fast retrieval of print and electronic sources, agreed with the requesting faculty according to the needs of individual subject areas. ADE Pilot Project for Medicine and Surgery Aimed primarily at fourth-year students of the Golgi CdLM. The course has been recognized as an ADE (Elective Educational Activity), with allocation of 2 CFUs; the first I edition was held in A.Y. 2002/2023. The main objective is to train future health professionals to access, evaluate and use in a constructive manner, qualitative/quantitative information and evidence, which they will need to be able to incorporate into clinical decision making and then communicate to various audiences.
